Director of Cooperation

The New London Food Cooperative (NLFC) is a community owned grocery store working to provide local, sustainable, and affordable food to New London, MN and the surrounding area. NLFC is in the process of opening a 1000 square foot grocery store. 

NLFC is seeking to hire a Director of Cooperation. This is a nonexempt, full-time position that could include evenings and/or weekends; a flexible schedule is required. The position will be a full time (40 hours/week) position. Candidates should have prior grocery/market or similar high-volume retail management experience, a willingness to work closely and constructively with our Board of Directors, and a desire to provide excellent customer service. 

The job of the Director of Cooperation is to lead the implementation of the cooperative’s goals to achieve the organization’s mission. The Director of Cooperation reports to the Board of Directors, which is elected by the owner members of the cooperative. The Board uses this job description to define the expectations and responsibilities of the Director of Cooperation.

Cooperative Associate

The New London Food Cooperative (NLFC) is a community owned grocery store working to provide local, sustainable, and affordable food to New London, MN and the surrounding area. NLFC is in the process of opening a 1000 square foot grocery store. 

NLFC is seeking to hire a Cooperative Associate. This is a nonexempt, part-time (20 hours/week) position that could include weekends and/or evenings; a flexible schedule is required. Candidates should have prior grocery/market or similar high-volume retail experience, but is not required. Ideal candidates have a willingness to work closely and constructively with Co-op colleagues, and a desire to provide excellent customer service. 

The Job of the Cooperative Associate is to support the cooperative’s goals to achieve the organization’s mission. This position works together with other staff and volunteers under the supervision of the Director of Cooperation, which is hired by the Board of Directors to carry out the organization’s mission. The Board uses this job description to define the expectations and responsibilities of the Cooperative Associate.
